Workshop 1
Planning Practices and Tools to Address Emerging Water Quality Issues
This workshop is for planners, engineers, landscape architects, and others involved with planning and design of methods to reduce pollutant discharges from new development and redevelopment projects. The objective of the workshop is to familiarize attendees with current and emerging stormwater quality issues and techniques to address these issues. The workshop will address topics ranging from source control and low impact development to treatment control.
Workshop 2
Phase II Synergy - Bringing Small MS4s Together
The NPDES Phase II program is implemented through a challenging and broadly-written permit that applies to municipalities that often lack the resources and staff to implement. As municipalities face the new Phase II General Permit requirements, we look to each other for ideas, information, and support. This workshop provides an interactive format to encourage the sharing of implementation strategies that will assist Phase II managers and staff. Presentation topics for this workshop include expected permit requirements such as low impact development (LID), hydromodification, and program effectiveness evaluation.
Workshop 3
Water quality impacts of litter and trash in California water bodies continue to be a concern for stormwater managers. This workshop is intended to provide practical information on the sources and pathways of trash; trash assessment tools; the demonstrated effectiveness and costs of institutional and treatment controls; and, options for funding trash-related control programs.
